Does anybody know of a unit that doesn't require extensive amounts of study time? Possibly even no final exam? I am looking to overload and such a unit would fit perfectly.

Was thinking CITS1002, does anybody have any opinions on this?

Are you already a good programmer?
What faculties are you open to taking units from?
CS only? SMS? Biz?
Please be more specific, otherwise there will be 10 consecutive "I've already done that unit" posts.

Any unit that I am able to take as part of the Group C option unit I am open to taking. I have no experience in programming.

In this case I would suggest that it is inadvisable to take CITS1002.

Programming assignments can be very time-consuming (and very frustrating when things don't work), especially so if one has not programmed before.

QFT.
If you've never programmed before, C is a baaaad bad idea.

Next semester I'm going to start my thesis,

CIVL4150, CIVL4110 and i need one more unit.

I was going to do CIVL4121 but i guess im going to do CIVL4110 next year instead.. SHOULDVE done it first semester  this year Embarrassed
(oh well its just thesis and 4110 next year anyways)

Thesis: I emailed a few professors, one replied. Are they hell busy marking exams still or what!
I also wanted to do a project related to rail and from what I see no one does that stuff in uni.

Subject selection: How would I go about doing a subject outside my Eng? I know you need a form but who do you bring it to? Engineering office?

Tried brainstorming a list of minimal contact, easy units to do like..

LING1002
ASIA1002
FINA1221
MGMT1135/1136
ECON1101

i heard econs was easy , i have no background in it though.

do you know when those level 3 physics units are going to be changed? I knew the second level units were getting changed so I'm doing them next sem, but hadn't really thought about the level 3s.

Next year is the last year they're being run, I'm pretty sure.

That was my plan as well. I emailed ecm and they said you can't do a double major (of civil and offshore) =(

Next sem I'm doing;

CIVL3112 (Concrete)
CIVL3140 (Modelling)
CIVL3150 (Management)

And I still haven't done level 1 mate (MATE1412)....but it no longer exists.....so maybe ENSC1002, except (from what I've seen) the unit is just mate and structures combined with some other stuff.......all of which I've done (including the major group project which is the same as 1110 last year)....not to mention it won't let me enrol in it either =\

MECH3422      Mechanisms and Multibody Systems
MCTX4422      Mechatronics Engineering Project Part 2
MECH4423      Advanced Control Engineering

Should be a fun semester Smiley

Mr. Magpie you almost have the same combination of units that I had last year except MECH3422.

some words of wisdom

MATE2412: Mostly review of materials 1 but a bit more in depth+a few new topics. Hong Yang teaches the unit very well imo.

CIVL3170: cruisy unit, easy calcs.

MECH3405: Still have not received any labs or assignments back from this unit, I go into final exam (worth 70%) not confident at all and somehow finished on a D. Shocked

I've done MMS and SI as well. MMS was pretty easy, last years exam was two questions that he had already done, one in class during the semester and another from a tutorial in the previous year (that I just happened to have). Smashed that exam.

SI is quite a bit of theory, but overall not difficult. If you keep up with the unit during the semester there's a pretty minimal amount of calculations and you won't find revising hard at all.

So trying to choose 2 out of the following three:
FINA2209 : Financial Planning
ECON2204 : Finance and Economics for Minerals and Energy
ACCT3302 : Financial Statement Analysis:

Any one got some advice? Much appreciated Smiley

Has anybody had any experience with:
CHPR4432 Special Topics in Mineral Processing?

Seems like a sensible choice from my group B options among all the advanced type units

At the moment:
MECH3422
MCTX3421
Most likely a 3rd year EP

And the 4th unit... I'm hesitant on choosing CIVL3170 because it is a civil unit and I'm doing a mechanical engineering major (not oil and gas). Do you guys think it's fine?

Or perhaps I should do ENSC3007 Heat and Mass Transfer, any thoughts?

CIVL3170 is easier than most first year units. No pre-reqs
